Lee Jaemyung 48.1%, Kim Moonsu 38.6%... 6.8%p Gap in Hypothetical Head-to-Head Matchup [Poll Poll News]

Gap in Head-to-Head Matchup Narrows from 13.9%p to 6.8%p According to Realmeter Poll Results

Although there has been one televised debate between the presidential candidates, a recent poll shows that there has not been a significant change in support rates among the candidates. Lee Jaemyung, the Democratic Party's presidential candidate, is showing an approval rating close to 50%, while Kim Moonsu, the People Power Party's candidate, is trailing by 9.5 percentage points. The poll also found that if the proposed unification of Kim Moonsu and Lee Junseok, as advocated by the People Power Party, were to take place, the gap in support between Lee Jaemyung and the opposition would narrow.

According to a poll released on the 22nd by polling agency Realmeter (commissioned by Energy Economy News, conducted on May 20-21 among 1,012 people aged 18 or older via 100% wireless automated response, with a margin of error of ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level and a response rate of 9.5%), Lee Jaemyung's approval rating was 48.1%, down 2.1 percentage points from last week's regular survey. Kwon Youngguk, the Democratic Labor Party's candidate, who also participated in the televised debate, recorded 0.6%, as did independent candidate Hwang Kyoan.
