The Korea Hydrogen Alliance announced that, together with the Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning, it jointly operated the Korea Pavilion at the "2025 World Hydrogen Summit & Exhibition (WHS 2025)" held at Ahoy Exhibition Center in Rotterdam, Netherlands, from May 20 to May 22.
WHS 2025, now in its sixth year, is the world's largest international hydrogen-focused exhibition and conference. Governments, companies, research institutes, and experts leading the global hydrogen industry gather to share policies, technologies, and market outlooks related to hydrogen, and to discuss avenues for cooperation.
The Korea Pavilion featured core technologies and products spanning the entire hydrogen value chain, including production, storage, transport, and utilization, exhibited by nine domestic companies. These included Hyundai Motor Company (hydrogen fuel cell systems), Doosan Fuel Cell (fuel cell systems), Kolon Industries (fuel cell components, etc.), Mikopower (150kW solid oxide fuel cell systems, etc.), Wonil TNI (hydrogen storage alloys and cylinders, etc.), Cryos (liquefied hydrogen transport and storage tanks), Enerzin (heat exchangers, etc.), Acrolabs (AEM water electrolysis stacks, etc.), and J-ING (hydrogen refueling dispenser packages).
The Korea Hydrogen Alliance explained that by operating the Korea Pavilion, it actively promoted the leading technologies and global influence of Korea's hydrogen industry, and laid the foundation for expanding the overseas presence of domestic hydrogen-related companies.
As part of these efforts, a partnering consultation event was held in cooperation with KOTRA. The KOTRA Amsterdam Trade Office worked to recruit and match buyers, and supported trade consultations to seek export opportunities and local value chain entry for Korean hydrogen companies.
Kim Jaehong, Chairman of the Korea Hydrogen Alliance, stated, "Operating the Korea Pavilion at WHS 2025 has been a meaningful opportunity to widely showcase the technological competitiveness of our hydrogen industry to the global market and to expand international partnerships," adding, "We will continue to increase Korea Pavilion participation at major international exhibitions to actively support network building and overseas market entry for Korean hydrogen companies."
Additionally, during the WHS 2025, Chairman Kim was invited as Korea's keynote speaker at the summit conference, where he introduced the country's hydrogen economy strategies and the core technologies and industrial sectors that are being fostered as priorities.
Furthermore, during the event, the Global Hydrogen Industrial Association Alliance (GHIAA) held a member country meeting. Leading hydrogen industry nations such as Korea, the United States, and Europe participated to discuss the latest industry trends, market outlooks, and ways to strengthen cooperation. As the GHIAA Secretariat, the Korea Hydrogen Alliance stated that it will continue to reinforce international collaboration to build a global hydrogen industry ecosystem and accelerate the transition to a hydrogen economy.
