GS25 to Export PB Products to 400 Don Quijote Stores in Japan

Over 10 YOUUS and Netflix Products to Launch
Dedicated Displays Set Up in Stores
Export Sales Expected to Surpass 13 Million Dollars This Year

GS Retail, the operator of the convenience store chain GS25, announced on May 22 that it will export its private brand (PB) and differentiated products to Don Quijote, Japan's leading variety store.


GS Retail held a meeting with Pan Pacific International Holdings (PPIH), the operator of Don Quijote, in September last year. After in-depth discussions, the company decided to begin exporting around 10 types of its PB brand YOUUS products and collaborative items starting in mid-May.

These products will be showcased at dedicated displays in approximately 400 Don Quijote stores across Japan. The dedicated displays have been installed in prominent locations within the stores, such as at the main entrances, to ensure high visibility for customers.


GS Retail plans to further strengthen its global strategic partnership with Don Quijote, using this export as a starting point. The company also aims to expand its distribution network in the Japanese market and enhance overseas brand recognition.


Previously, GS Retail expanded its export product lineup from about 40 items in 2017 to around 600 items currently. Its export markets have also grown to include about 30 countries, spanning Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia. Not only have YOUUS, its flagship PB brand products, contributed to export growth, but also differentiated intellectual property (IP) collaborative products such as 'Netflix,' 'Kakao,' 'Kamel Coffee,' and 'Twodari.' Last year, export sales reached 9 million dollars, and the company expects to surpass 13 million dollars this year.


Park Jihwan, head of the export/import MD team at GS Retail, stated, "The entry of GS25's PB and differentiated products into Don Quijote in Japan is proof of our product competitiveness and brand value in the global market," adding, "We will continue to pursue a variety of projects with Don Quijote to ensure that both companies can generate tangible synergies."
