Victory in 'Senior Mixed Doubles Badminton' and 'Three-Legged Race'
Runner-up in Gateball, Hookball, Sport Stacking, Basketball Shooting, and Women's Doubles Badminton
Dongdaemun-gu in Seoul (District Mayor Lee Philhyeong) achieved overall victory for the second consecutive year at the '2025 Seoul Citizens' Sports Festival' held on May 17-18, 2025.
Approximately 9,000 citizens from 25 autonomous districts of Seoul participated, competing in '10 club sports' (such as badminton, futsal, basketball, etc.) and '10 citizen participation sports' (such as basketball shooting, golf putting, three-legged race, etc.), showcasing the skills they had honed.
A delegation of about 300 residents, organized mainly by the Dongdaemun-gu Sports Council (President Yoo Gwano), delivered balanced performances across 20 events and secured first place overall.
They won the 'Senior Mixed Doubles Badminton' and 'Three-Legged Race' events, finished as runners-up in 'Gateball,' 'Hookball,' 'Sport Stacking,' 'Basketball Shooting,' and 'Women's Doubles Badminton,' and achieved podium finishes in a total of seven events.
District Mayor Lee Philhyeong stated, "This is a meaningful achievement that demonstrates the strength of Dongdaemun-gu united through community sports," and added, "We will continue to support and show interest so that residents can enjoy various sports within the district."
