Ongoing Customized Training for Job Seekers
Yeongdeungpo District (District Mayor Choi Hokwon) announced that it will operate a "Forklift Operator Certification Training Program" to strengthen residents' employment capabilities and expand job entry opportunities, and is accepting applications for participants until May 30.
The forklift operator certification is in high demand across many sectors, including construction, manufacturing, delivery, and transportation. In particular, there are no eligibility restrictions for taking the exam, and the entry barriers for employment are low, making it one of the most preferred certifications among job seekers.
Last year, all participants in the program obtained the certification, and, with the district's employment support, successfully found jobs in related industries such as logistics centers.
The training course will run from June 9 to June 13, totaling 40 hours and covering both theory and practical training, including: general theory of construction machinery, forklift operation, loading and unloading cargo, cargo transport and movement, and course driving. After the training, participants will take the practical exam at the same site where they practiced. Upon obtaining the forklift operator certification, individuals are qualified to operate forklifts of three tons or more.
The district will select 20 participants through a document screening process, and the training is free of charge. The program will be held at Hwaseong Sinjin Heavy Equipment Academy, and a free shuttle bus to the academy will be provided.
Any unemployed resident with an address in Yeongdeungpo District is eligible to apply by visiting the Yeongdeungpo District Integrated Job Support Center by May 30. However, applicants must hold a Class 1 regular driver's license.
After obtaining the certification, a professional job counselor will provide one-on-one customized counseling, job information, and interview preparation, offering systematic support to help participants achieve successful employment.
Choi Hokwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, stated, "We will actively support residents so that they can find stable jobs after obtaining their certifications," and added, "We will do our utmost to help job-seeking residents gain competitiveness and find jobs that match their aptitudes."
