Dongseon Kim, Vice President of Future Vision at Hanwha Galleria and Hanwha Hotels and Resorts, who led the acquisition of Ourhome, the country's second-largest food service company, explained the background behind the decision to acquire the shares in an internal Ourhome post on May 21.

He stated, "I have always believed that everyone should be able to enjoy healthy, hygienic, and delicious food without burden," and emphasized, "My goal is to provide such food to every person in Korea." He also mentioned his grandfather, Hyunam Kim Jonghee, the founder of Hanwha Group, saying, "I believe that entrepreneurs must benefit the world through their businesses."

Kim further expressed his intention to expand overseas, saying, "My goal for the future is to ensure that people all over the world can enjoy our food." He added, "We should focus on making food so excellent that we would want to give it to our own children, and provide it to our customers. If we only think about making our customers healthy and happy through our food, then with that philosophy, Ourhome can become a global company."

He also stressed, "We will build competitiveness through innovation, such as expanding the value chain to reduce costs, streamlining production and logistics preprocessing, and developing world-class kitchen automation technology." He continued, "We are not simply a food service and ingredient distribution company, but a platform that protects people's health and brings them joy through great work."

Kim emphasized to Ourhome employees, "You are now part of the Hanwha family," and suggested that they would receive the same welfare benefits as Hanwha employees. Previously, Hanwha Hotels and Resorts completed the acquisition of a 58.62% stake in Ourhome by paying 869.5 billion won on May 15.
