KCar's "Sell My Car Home Service" Establishes Itself as a Trend in Used Car Sales

KCar, the largest direct-managed used car platform company in Korea, announced that its "Sell My Car Home Service" surpassed 1 million cumulative users as of April. This milestone comes since the service was first launched in December 2014. The achievement demonstrates that selling vehicles through specialized used car companies has become a prevailing trend.

This shift is also evident in consumer behavior regarding car sales. In a survey conducted by KCar with 700 consumers interested in selling used cars, 41.9% reported that they primarily use specialized used car websites or apps to search for information when selling a used car, making it the most common method. Notably, over 75% of respondents said they search for information online, and among them, the majority preferred information provided by professional used car companies.


KCar's "Sell My Car Home Service" is a personal sales service where customers enter their vehicle information and contact details, and a vehicle appraiser visits them at their convenience to inspect the car and provide a purchase price. The service is characterized by transparent pricing, free from unfair depreciation and commission fees. According to a customer satisfaction survey conducted by KCar in February, 96% of users responded that they were "satisfied" with the service, and 98% indicated they would "recommend it to acquaintances."


As vehicle information search becomes the starting point for used car transactions, KCar's Sell My Car service is regarded as a model optimized for this evolving trend. Even consumers with no prior experience in used car transactions can complete the sales process with just a few clicks, lowering the entry barrier. Additionally, the vehicle price data provided by KCar serves as a practical reference for actual transactions, helping to address information asymmetry in the market.


KCar has also enhanced vehicle management through its "My Car" service, launched in April. My Car is a service that integrates and provides information on vehicle prices, history, and maintenance schedules. The core goal is to strengthen customer trust not only by facilitating used car transactions, but also by offering transparent and detailed information for comprehensive vehicle management after purchase. The service distinguishes itself by providing more accurate, data-driven price estimates that factor in mileage and factory options, as well as offering notification services for vehicle management.


Customers who purchase vehicles from KCar also benefit from automatic integration of KCar Warranty (KW) expiration information. KCar plans to offer additional features in the future, including benefits for vehicle repurchase and resale, as well as warranty extension programs. Through the My Car service, KCar aims to enhance both customer convenience and vehicle management efficiency, while simultaneously increasing trust in its brand.
