Han Donghoon Shouts "Kim Moonsoo" in Daegu, Warns Yoon: "Spreading Election Fraud Theories Means Certain Defeat"

"If We Can't End Election Fraud Conspiracies, Early Voting Is Impossible"
"We Will Lose to Lee Jaemyung, Who Campaigns for Three Days"

To Yoon, Who Watched an 'Election Fraud' Film: "He Always Voted Early"

On May 21, former People Power Party (PPP) leader Han Donghoon warned regarding former President Yoon Sukyeol's viewing of a film about election fraud, stating, "Former President Yoon talks about election fraud, but he himself voted early in every election," and added, "If election fraud conspiracy theories are spread, there will be certain defeat in this presidential election."

When a reporter mentioned at Seomun Market in Daegu that former President Yoon had watched a movie about election fraud, Han responded, "If we cannot put an end to election fraud conspiracy theories, we cannot encourage early voting," and continued, "If that happens, Lee Jaemyung, the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, will have three days to campaign, while we will only have one. Who do you think will win between someone who campaigns for three days and someone who only campaigns for one?"

Regarding election fairness, Han stated, "We must implement a system that guarantees fairness more strongly than anyone else. The National Election Commission has been far too negligent in this regard," and emphasized, "That is why I have strongly advocated, for over a year, for extending the voting period instead of early voting, and for requiring the Election Commission's official seal on early ballots."

He went on to say, "However, spreading unverified election fraud conspiracy theories is a completely different matter," and stressed, "Spreading unverified election fraud conspiracy theories is a shortcut to certain defeat in the election."

Han reiterated that a complete break between the PPP and former President Yoon and his wife is a prerequisite for victory. He said, "Former President Yoon is going his own way. We must go our own way," adding, "That is not our view. It is not the view of conservatives. It is not the view of the Republic of Korea. Rather, at times like this, we must follow the true path of conservatism," appealing for support.

When asked by a reporter whether there had been any prior discussion about PPP Emergency Committee Chairman Kim Yongtae's remark that "Kim Keonhee should apologize," Han replied, "There was none. As a PPP member, I feel sorry to the people and our party members for letting things get to this point and for not preventing it in advance," bowing his head.

He continued, "And I have strongly pointed out the issue of Mrs. Kim since I was party leader and during the general election, but some have labeled that as betrayal. Is that really right?" and added, "Now is the time for the PPP to embark on the proper path of conservatism," raising his voice.

When citizens at Seomun Market chanted "Han Donghoon," Han responded, "Today, it is Kim Moonsoo," and called for support for PPP presidential candidate Kim Moonsoo. He said, "Please do not chant my name here. Here, for the victory of the PPP, please cheer for Kim Moonsoo," and urged, "We may be facing difficult circumstances, but here, in Daegu, the heart of conservatism, let us ignite a new spark to rebuild conservatism."

Regarding some internal party dissatisfaction about not joining the election committee and conducting an independent campaign, Han replied, "I would like to ask if they have fought as much as I have," and asserted, "I will continue to do my best, and I will lead the fight more than anyone else to secure our party's victory and prevent a world led by Lee Jaemyung and the Democratic Party."
