The 2025 Asia Motorsports Carnival, a comprehensive cultural festival aimed at promoting cultural exchange in Asia and globalizing domestic motorsports, will kick off in grand fashion on the 25th at Yeongam International Circuit (KIC).
Sponsored by Jeonnam Province and hosted by Superrace Co., the Asia Motorsports Carnival has been held annually since 2014. It has established itself as a comprehensive cultural festival with the goals of facilitating cultural exchange within Asia and globalizing domestic motorsports.
This year, the event will welcome visitors with a variety of content that combines racing, exhibitions, hands-on experiences, and performances. A total of 120 racing cars and bikes across seven categories will participate, delivering thrilling competitions.
The main events include the top domestic class, such as: ▲Toyota Gazoo Racing 6000 ▲GT (high-performance production cars) ▲Prius PHEV (Japanese hybrid) ▲LiSTA M (BMW) ▲Alpine (French sports car) ▲Radical Cup Asia (UK racing-only vehicles) ▲Korea Superbike (Japanese motorcycle).
In particular, the "Toyota Gazoo Racing 6000" class is the only stock car race in Asia, featuring a 436-horsepower, 6,200cc engine. Since 2022, the pit stop format has been introduced, and this has become a key highlight for spectators. Scenes of teams refueling and changing tires are expected to further energize the atmosphere at the venue.
In addition to the races, the venue will offer various attractions such as domestic and international motorsports brand exhibitions, food trucks, and family-friendly hands-on programs.
Signature experiences include the "Grid Walk," where visitors can get up close to drivers and vehicles; "Taxi Time," a circuit ride with a professional driver; a circuit bus tour; karting; mini car racing; and prize events, allowing all generations to enjoy the festivities together.
Moreover, this year's event is designed not just as a sports competition, but also as a tourism-linked festival to boost the local economy. Including the preliminary rounds, approximately 3,320 athletes and officials are expected to stay in the region, and more than 20,000 spectators are anticipated to attend on the day of the finals, May 25.
The event will also promote Jeonnam's clean image and its potential as a hub for future mobility nationwide. Live broadcasts of the races will naturally showcase the province's beautiful scenery, brand identity (BI), and promotional content.
Further information about the event can be found on the official Superrace website. Tickets can be purchased via Interpark or on-site on the day of the event. The finals will be broadcast live on terrestrial TV at 1:25 p.m. on May 25, and will also be available for viewing on YouTube, SOOP, and Naver Sports.
