Mayor Park Hyungjun: "Busan Rises When Youth Take Action"... Special Lecture at Pusan National University

"The future of Busan as a global city is only possible with the challenges taken on by young people."

Mayor Park Hyungjun visited Pusan National University to share his vision for the future of Busan and to engage in dialogue with young people.

Pusan National University (President Choi Jaewon) invited Mayor Park on May 20 to deliver a special lecture titled "The Future of Busan Together with Youth" at the Saebyeokbeol Library on campus. The event, hosted by the university's Student Affairs Office, was attended by around 200 students and staff members.

In his lecture, "Busan as a Global Hub City, Reaching Higher with Youth," Mayor Park outlined strategies for Busan to become a city with international competitiveness. He shared plans for fostering the digital industry, establishing a maritime finance hub, and building a global exchange platform, emphasizing the pivotal role of the younger generation in these efforts.

He stated, "Urban innovation ultimately begins with the ideas and actions of young people," and added, "To realize Busan's potential, young people must continue to take on challenges and experiment in their respective fields."

After the lecture, there was an open Q&A session. Mayor Park personally responded to students' opinions and policy suggestions regarding local issues, engaging in sincere conversation. He later toured the Pusan National University Museum with the attendees, providing further opportunities for close interaction.

A university official commented, "It was a meaningful occasion for local government and youth to contemplate and pursue a vision together," and added, "We plan to further expand students' social participation and public engagement activities in the future."
