Daewoong Pharmaceutical operated digital healthcare and health functional food booths at the exhibition held at Seoul Plaza in Jung-gu, Seoul from May 13 to 15. The booths showcased comprehensive healthcare solutions covering the entire cycle from prevention and early diagnosis of chronic diseases to post-management. In addition, flagship over-the-counter medicines such as Urusa, Impactamin, Easyderm, EzN6, and Beazai were introduced, attracting the interest of visitors.
Approximately 5,000 people visited the Daewoong Pharmaceutical booth over the three days, and 450 of them participated directly in the fundus examination program. Of these participants, about 15% were advised to visit a medical institution and undergo a detailed examination.
The fundus examination program provided an opportunity for participants to directly experience the importance of early diagnosis of fundus diseases. Visitors could try fundus photography using the fundus camera 'OPTiNA Genesis', and assess the risk of the three major blinding diseases in just five seconds with the AI-powered blindness disease diagnostic support solution 'WISKY'. Seoul Mayor Oh Sehun also visited the Daewoong Pharmaceutical booth, experiencing both OPTiNA and WISKY, and reportedly showed interest in the digital healthcare solutions.
The highlight of the exhibition was an experiential event designed to raise awareness about the three major blinding diseases (diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and glaucoma). In particular, the 'visual field restriction mask experience', which allowed participants to indirectly experience visual field impairment caused by blinding diseases, drew significant attention. Participants wore special masks that blocked part of their vision and played a game in which they threw a ball at a target, helping them understand how visual field loss can impact daily life.
Additionally, real-time health monitoring devices utilizing digital technology were also exhibited, including the wearable electrocardiogram device 'mobiCARE', the ring-type continuous blood pressure monitor 'CART BP Pro', and the continuous glucose monitor 'FreeStyle Libre'.
Cho Byungha, Head of Digital Healthcare Business at Daewoong Pharmaceutical, stated, "We hope this exhibition provided citizens with a chance to directly feel the risks of blinding diseases and reflect on the importance of health," and added, "Going forward, Daewoong Pharmaceutical will continue to contribute to public health through healthcare solutions focused on prevention and early diagnosis using digital technologies."
