This event features architectural works by 30 women architects from Korea and abroad, highlighting their sensitivity and creativity. The international symposium will include Kazuyo Sejima, the co-recipient of the 2010 Pritzker Prize, which is often referred to as the Nobel Prize of architecture.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism recognizes the importance of architecture as a physical space closely connected to our lives and plans to expand support for architecture and architects as a field of culture and the arts. In addition to the "Korea Architectural Culture Festival" and the "Korea Spatial Culture Awards," the ministry will launch a new archival project this year focused on major Korean architecture and architects, aiming to organize and utilize past achievements as a foundation for future initiatives.
Vice Minister Yong stated, "Architecture is not merely the composition of physical space, but a cultural art that designs people's lives," adding, "We will continue to broaden the base of architectural culture and actively support Korean architects so that a Pritzker Prize winner may emerge from Korea in the future."
The 2025 Women Architects Exhibition will be held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) until the 25th.
