Hapcheon County Conducts Capacity-Building Training for Safety Security Officers

Practical Training Conducted to Strengthen Emergency Response Capabilities

Hapcheon County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on May 21 that it has conducted training for safety security officers to strengthen their emergency response capabilities.


This training, organized by South Gyeongsang Province, was held for all cities and counties within the province to redefine the roles and activities of safety security officers and to enhance their ability to respond to crises in daily life. The training was led by Jang Kyunghwa, president of the South Gyeongsang Province Safety Monitor Volunteer Group, along with two safety education instructors certified by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

The main topics covered in the training included: ▲ duties and policy directions of safety security officers ▲ how to use the Safety Sinmungo application ▲ safety education in daily life and transportation sectors ▲ first aid and automated external defibrillator (AED) usage, among others.


Baek Iheum, the representative of the safety security officers who attended the training, stated, "The training on how to use the application and first aid was practical and could be immediately applied in real life," adding, "I will carry out more proactive activities to enhance community safety in the future."


Meanwhile, Hapcheon County has appointed 33 safety security officers who are responsible for conducting safety inspections, safety culture campaigns, and patrolling and reporting disaster risk factors in each township and village.
