Victim Also Diagnosed with Human Papillomavirus (HPV)
A famous Singaporean actor of Chinese origin was sentenced to 40 months in prison for raping a teenage girl. It was revealed that the victim was also diagnosed with human papillomavirus (HPV), adding to the shock.
According to The Straits Times, actor Ian Fang pleaded guilty on May 19 (local time) to three counts of raping a minor. The court sentenced Fang to 40 months in prison.

The judge criticized Fang, stating, "As an adult male, he was fully aware of his actions," and added, "This was not a one-time incident; he exploited the vulnerable emotions of a young girl."
The judge further pointed out, "He showed no concern for the victim's well-being, and his attempt to gaslight the victim in order to save himself inflicted even greater harm on her."
Born in Shanghai, China, Fang moved to Singapore as a child and debuted in 2011, appearing in films and dramas. After ending his acting career in 2023, he worked as a temporary teacher at a modeling school for children aged 4 to 14.
Fang first met the victim, referred to as Miss A, in May last year and exchanged contact information. The two communicated daily and grew closer. Subsequently, between June and July last year, Fang had sexual intercourse with Miss A on nine occasions. It was revealed that on five of those occasions, he did not use contraception.
What is particularly shocking is that on June 6 last year, Fang visited the victim, who was quarantined in a hotel after contracting COVID-19, and had sexual intercourse with her. He also visited her again on June 17, when she was hospitalized with the flu, and had sexual intercourse with her once more. In August last year, after learning that Miss A had been having sexual relations with Fang, Miss A's mother reported Fang to the police.
After the police investigation began, Fang contacted Miss A despite police warnings not to do so and threatened her by saying, "If I go to prison, I will die."
Fang's attorney argued, "Fang recognizes the seriousness of his actions," and claimed, "Because he is in the public eye, he contacted her to keep the relationship secret."
As a result of this incident, Miss A developed depression and was diagnosed with an adjustment disorder. Miss A's attorney pointed out, "Even after the case concludes, Miss A will live in pain for the rest of her life."
