On May 20, Jeollanam-do Governor Kim Youngrok visited the National Assembly and met with Representative Kim Sunghwan, head of the Policy Headquarters of the Democratic Party of Korea's Central Election Committee, to actively propose that key projects in the Jeonnam region be included as presidential election pledges.

With an early presidential election approaching, Jeollanam-do is making all-out efforts to ensure that the region's core issues are reflected in the pledges of political parties and presidential candidates.

On this day, Governor Kim focused on explaining the key tasks and regional issues that Jeollanam-do prioritizes for inclusion in presidential pledges for the region's future development. These include: the creation of the "Solaseado AI Energy New City"; the establishment of the "Naju Energy AI Model City"; the promotion of a mega project for the major transformation of the "petrochemical and steel industries"; the creation of a "global offshore wind power ecosystem"; the development of an "AI-based advanced agricultural and livestock convergence district"; the establishment of a "Second Space Center" within the space launch vehicle special zone; and the development of Muan International Airport as a "leading gateway airport in Northeast Asia."

Governor Kim stated, "As these are crucial tasks that determine the future of Jeonnam, I ask for your great interest and cooperation so that they are ultimately included in the presidential pledges and further adopted as national policy tasks by the new government to be launched."

Representative Kim Sunghwan responded, "I recognize that the tasks proposed by Jeonnam are core strategies to drive regional development," and added, "We will actively review and work together to ensure these policies are reflected as the foundation for the region's future growth."
