Green Umbrella, a child welfare organization chaired by Hwang Younggi, announced on the 20th that it will strengthen cooperation with the Seoul Metropolitan Government and launch a pilot project for 'Seoul Learn,' an initiative aimed at closing the education gap for children and adolescents from low-income families.

In this regard, Green Umbrella and the Seoul Metropolitan Government signed a business agreement at Seoul City Hall in Jung-gu, Seoul, on the same day. Both parties agreed to strengthen public-private cooperation by expanding the eligibility for Seoul Learn support and diversifying the participating stakeholders.

'Seoul Learn' is a public education welfare project based on an online education platform that the Seoul Metropolitan Government has been operating since 2021. The initiative aims to broaden learning opportunities for children and adolescents from vulnerable groups and to address educational disparities caused by social and economic circumstances.

Through this agreement, Green Umbrella and the Seoul Metropolitan Government plan to expand the beneficiaries of the Seoul Learn project beyond children from low-income families to include households with multiple children whose income is at or below 100% of the median income. They will provide support such as online learning content and educational materials.

Additionally, the Seoul Learn project will be developed into a stable and sustainable education support model by linking it with corporate sponsorships.

Green Umbrella expects that this agreement will serve as a model case of public-private cooperation created jointly with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, and anticipates that it will help address broader educational blind spots through future collaborations with local governments and various companies nationwide.

Hwang Younggi, Chairman of Green Umbrella, stated, "Seoul Learn is more than just educational support; it is a representative example of public education welfare that protects the future of children. Based on this agreement, we will build a sustainable cooperation model involving the private sector and local communities to support the healthy growth of more children."
