Active Response to Demand: 10 Additional Tourist Taxis Designated
Uljin County has implemented a new "same-day reservation system" for its tourist taxi service starting from May 17, allowing tourists to use the service more conveniently.
Since the launch of the tourist taxi service in March, the county has improved the existing advance reservation system to provide a tourism service that is easily accessible to all visitors.
This service, which was introduced to enhance tourist convenience and revitalize local tourism in line with the opening of the Donghae Line railway, recorded 34 uses in March and 94 in April. As of mid-May, more than 120 reservations have already been made, demonstrating a strong positive response.
In particular, the county provides a 60% subsidy on the fare, making the service affordable. With the addition of the same-day reservation system, the number of users is expected to increase further. To actively meet this demand, 10 additional tourist taxis will be designated.
Tourists wishing to use the service can make a reservation through the Tourist Taxi Reservation Center or the Uljin County Office integrated reservation system. The service is available for a minimum of four hours.
County Governor Son Byeongbok stated, "We have enhanced service accessibility to meet the diverse needs of tourists," and added, "We will continue to improve transportation and tourism-linked services so that everyone can conveniently enjoy tourism in Uljin."
