Held at the Companion Dog Playground within the Hantangang Ecological Landscape Complex
Pocheon City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Younghyeon) announced on May 20 that it will host the '2025 Pocheon Companion Animal Culture Festival' on June 8 at the companion dog playground within the Hantangang Ecological Landscape Complex.
This festival has been organized to promote proper awareness of companion animals and to spread a healthy companion animal culture, in line with the increasing trend of pet-owning households (Petfam).
Through expert consultations, the festival will help address behavioral issues in companion animals and improve the quality of life for pet owners (Petfam) by offering practical education on dog etiquette, walking, and other daily activities.
The festival will feature a variety of programs, including: companion animal etiquette education and behavior correction, a fun sports competition, Petiquette promotion, the Yellow Dog Project campaign, training demonstrations, free basic grooming, companion dog CPR, and agility (obstacle course) experiences.
In particular, the fun sports competition will present awards to outstanding dogs in each category, including 'Gidarigae' (patience test), 'Ppariorgae' (running quickly toward the owner), 'Neomeorogae' (obstacle crossing), and 'Areumdapgae' (fashion show). A Pocheon City official stated, "We hope this festival will provide practical education and enjoyable experiences for pet owners, and serve as an opportunity to improve awareness of companion animals among non-pet owners."
