Busan City will launch the "2025 Demand-Responsive Emergency Overseas Branch Support Program for SMEs" to quickly address the urgent overseas marketing needs of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) preparing for export.
The city, in cooperation with the Busan Economic Promotion Agency, has developed a short-term, intensive overseas branch program for local SMEs at the pre-export stage. This initiative will be implemented twice, once in the first half and once in the second half of the year.
The emergency branch program is a system that provides tailored branch services to SMEs that require local support due to unexpected issues. It targets companies that need assistance with business trips, exhibition participation, logistics and customs consulting, or obtaining local permits at the stage just before export or contract signing.
Eligible companies are Busan-based SMEs with export sales of $30 million (approximately 41.9 billion won) or less in the previous year. The city plans to provide close local support in cooperation with KOTRA's overseas trade offices.
Applications for the first half of the year will be accepted from May 21 to June 4. Companies wishing to participate can apply through the Busan City Overseas Marketing Integrated System.
Kim Bongcheol, Director of Digital Economy at Busan City, stated, "Through this emergency overseas branch support program, we hope that companies needing practical assistance at the final stage of export can enter overseas markets more quickly and efficiently." He added, "We will continue to expand customized overseas marketing policies that reflect the needs of companies on the ground."
