Kim Sangjin Proposes Transforming Seogu-dong Administrative Welfare Center
into 'Haengbok Com,' a Multifunctional Community Space
Kim Sangjin, a member of the Andong City Council in Gyeongbuk (representing Junggu-dong, Myeongnyun-dong, and Seogu-dong), proposed on May 19 during the 258th temporary session of the Andong City Council that the Seogu-dong Administrative Welfare Center be relocated and developed into an 'Administrative Complex Community Center (Haengbok Com),' a multifunctional cultural space capable of providing a variety of welfare services such as leisure, culture, and health for residents.
Kim Sangjin, a member of the Andong City Council in Gyeongbuk, is delivering a 5-minute free speech.
Kim emphasized the necessity of creating a welfare space tailored to the local community by closely analyzing residents' welfare needs and communicating with them, referencing advanced local government cases such as Sejong City and Gumi City.
In particular, he requested the efficient use of the former KT&G Andong branch building and site as the new relocation site for the Seogu-dong Administrative Welfare Center.
Kim Sangjin stated, "The Administrative Welfare Center should not be limited to issuing civil documents and hosting a few club activities," and added, "It should be reborn as 'Haengbok Com,' where residents can drink coffee, read books, relax, and have access to spaces for health management and meetings."
Additionally, Kim urged the city administration to maintain continuous interest and effort so that, starting with Seogu-dong, all Administrative Welfare Centers in Andong's towns and neighborhoods can develop into complex community centers that contribute to the improvement of residents' welfare and quality of life.
If this proposal is realized, it is expected that Andong City's Administrative Welfare Centers will be transformed into resident-centered multifunctional cultural spaces, bringing new vitality to the daily lives of local residents.
