To celebrate Family Month, POSCO Gwangyang Steelworks held a performance of the popular children's musical 'Jangsutang Seonnyeonim' at Baegun Art Hall on May 17, inviting employees, their families, and local residents.
The performance was met with an enthusiastic response from employees and residents, with every show sold out and more than 2,300 audience members in attendance.

'Jangsutang Seonnyeonim' tells the story of a young girl who embarks on an adventure after meeting a mysterious fairy at an old bathhouse. Through this journey, the girl learns about courage, friendship, and the importance of family, delivering a heartwarming message to the audience.
'Jangsutang Seonnyeonim' is a work by Baek Heena, the author of 'Alsatang' and recipient of the prestigious Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award in children's literature. The musical has been much loved by audiences for its unique storyline and touching message. In fact, it ranked first in Interpark Ticket's annual ranking for children's musicals from 2022 to 2024.
This particular performance, organized as a children's musical in honor of Family Month, also invited 135 children from local children's centers and group homes, creating even warmer memories for the young audience members.
Gwangyang Steelworks set up a photo zone in the Baegun Art Hall lobby replicating the 'Jangsutang' setting from the musical, and operated a pop-up store selling a variety of goods such as postcards featuring Baek Heena's illustrations and bathhouse items, offering additional memorable experiences for employees and citizens attending the show.
Jung Jinha, a manager at Gwangyang Steelworks who attended the performance with his children, said, "We enjoyed reading the book together, and being able to watch the musical in person made for a wonderful memory." A resident of Geumho-dong who attended the performance commented, "The children who watched the show with me loved it. I am grateful to Gwangyang Steelworks for organizing such a meaningful event for Family Month."
A representative from Gwangyang Steelworks stated, "This performance was organized to create special memories for local children during Family Month. We plan to continue providing cultural experiences for citizens by hosting a variety of cultural events in the future."
