Dongmyung University has taken proactive measures not only to prevent sexual harassment and sexual violence, but also to eradicate abuse of power by those in positions of authority.
On May 16, Dongmyung University held a customized violence prevention training session at the main building, attended by approximately 170 senior officials from within the university.

This training is part of the university's ongoing efforts to create a safe and respectful campus community for all its members.
The session was led by Hong Eui-seop, an instructor commissioned by the Korea Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education. Under the theme "Creating a University Culture of Respect and Empathy: The Beginning of a Safe Campus," the training went beyond theoretical lectures by focusing on real-life cases of sexual violence, delivering practical and relatable content that resonated with participants.
In particular, by posing the question, "What would you do if someone within the school is struggling?" the session encouraged senior officials to take greater responsibility for addressing human rights violations on campus.
The Dongmyung University Human Rights Center (Director: Lee Namyeon) stated that, with this training as a starting point, "We will continue our efforts to foster a healthy university culture free from abuse of power, moving beyond the simple prevention of sexual harassment and sexual violence."
