Cemetery Maintenance and Taegukgi Flag Raising Activities
Consistent Efforts for 18 Years Since 2008
Participation Expanded to Members of Investment Companies
On May 20, ahead of the 70th Memorial Day, SKC announced that it had carried out a cemetery maintenance activity at the Seoul National Cemetery, honoring the spirits of those who died for the country and placing Taegukgi flags at the gravesites.
A volunteer group composed of employees from SKC and ISC, a semiconductor test socket investment company, held a moment of silence for the fallen patriots and national heroes at the Memorial Tower. Afterwards, they raised Taegukgi flags, laid flowers, and cleaned the surroundings at Section 19, where 913 graves of military personnel who died in service are located.
Since launching the SKC Volunteer Group in 2004, SKC has maintained a sisterhood relationship with the Seoul National Cemetery since 2008, regularly conducting flower-laying and cemetery maintenance activities for 18 years. SKC plans to further expand its social contribution activities in the future, including volunteer work at the Seoul National Cemetery, with participation from members of its investment companies.
An SKC representative stated, "Through this volunteer activity at the Seoul National Cemetery, we were able to once again deeply honor the noble sacrifices of the fallen patriots," adding, "We will continue to faithfully fulfill our role as a responsible company." The representative also said, "In particular, with the planned relocation to the Chungmuro headquarters at the end of this month, we intend to promote activities such as biodiversity conservation in the local communities where SKC and its investment companies operate."
SKC is preparing to leave its Gwanghwamun headquarters, which it has occupied since 2017, and relocate to the SK-C Tower in Jung-gu, Seoul, on May 26. SKC plans to use the official beginning of the 'Chungmuro era' as a turning point to accelerate its leap forward as a 'global ESG material solutions company.'
