Key researchers dedicated to future mobility technologies at HL Mando were honored with the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award and the Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office Award at the 60th Invention Day Ceremony held on May 19.
At the awards ceremony, Inwook Jeon and Jesang Park, Senior Researchers at HL Mando, each received the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award, while Suntae Kim, Senior Researcher at HL Clemoove, was awarded the Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office Award.
According to HL Group, these researchers were recognized for their contributions to strengthening national competitiveness through their efforts in developing cutting-edge electrification components and achieving the first domestic commercialization of autonomous driving systems, as well as their research into innovative future mobility technologies.

Inwook Jeon, Senior Researcher at HL Mando, played a leading role in developing core components for brake systems. He invented a solenoid valve that reduces braking noise. HL Mando succeeded in independently developing this component for the first time in the world. Jeon also participated in the development of next-generation brake products, including integrated electronic brakes and active hydraulic boosters.
Jesang Park, another recipient of the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award, is an expert in steering systems. Over his 17 years at the company, he has focused on steering system research, achieving the invention of a dual safety function for electric power steering, as well as developing and enhancing the performance of motor precision control software.
Suntae Kim, Senior Researcher at HL Clemoove and recipient of the Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office Award, contributed to the commercialization of Level 2 autonomous driving technologies, such as lane departure prevention assistance and highway driving assistance functions, which enhance driver safety and convenience.
An HL Group representative stated, "Currently, HL Mando and HL Clemoove hold approximately 10,000 patents related to automotive components," adding, "Both companies will continue to introduce innovative future mobility technologies to further solidify their competitiveness on the global stage."
