Six Companies Achieve 98 Export Consultations in Malaysia and Thailand
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on May 20 that a delegation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) dispatched to Southeast Asia achieved export consultation results totaling $25.74 million (approximately 36 billion KRW).
The market development delegation was composed of six local companies?Seobo Industrial (round slings), Biorhythm (probiotic supplements for skin immunity), Sinabro Lab (pet snacks), Queens Cosmetic (cosmetics), Jinwoo Bio (medical devices), and YS Medi (beauty devices)?as well as the Gyeonggi Southern Regional Headquarters of the Korea International Trade Association, which served as the implementing agency.
On May 14, the delegation held an export consultation event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, conducting 37 consultations worth $3.55 million. On May 16, in Bangkok, Thailand, they achieved 61 consultations totaling $22.19 million. On May 15, the delegation attended the "ASEAN Market Entry Strategy Seminar" at the KOTRA Kuala Lumpur Trade Office, where they learned about local market trends, successful export cases, and FTA certification procedures.
The city supported the delegation by providing interpretation and translation services, sourcing buyers, conducting market research, and renting vehicles and consultation venues.
A city official stated, "The overseas market development delegation has demonstrated the potential for entering the Southeast Asian market by achieving excellent results," and added, "Based on these achievements, we will continue to help SMEs explore new markets, including dispatching a market development delegation to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in June."
