Geumcheon-gu Recruits Participants for Youth Housing Independence Project... DIY Interior Design and Jeonse Fraud Prevention Tips

Geumcheon-gu (District Mayor Yoo Sung-hoon) has announced the recruitment of participants for the youth housing education program, the "Doklipmanse Project," which aims to support young people in achieving stable and independent living arrangements.

The district has launched this program to assist young people struggling with a lack of housing information, at a time when youth housing insecurity?such as jeonse fraud and reverse jeonse crises?has become a major social issue.

Additionally, reflecting the local characteristic of a steadily increasing number of independent young households around Gasan Digital Complex Station and Doksan Station, the district aims to provide tailored housing education and support the formation of a local community.

The program is open to young people aged 19 to 39 who reside in or are active in Geumcheon-gu. The education curriculum consists of various practical, everyday topics designed to help young people achieve genuine housing independence.

The program includes: ▲ understanding and introduction to housing policies ▲ practical real estate contract skills and prevention of jeonse fraud ▲ home repairs and DIY interior design ▲ simple cooking ▲ organizing and storage ▲ self-defense education ▲ exploration of hobbies (such as golf, photography, and playing musical instruments), with a focus on hands-on activities.

In particular, the program is characterized by its community-centered approach, going beyond simple information delivery to enable young people with similar concerns to communicate and form bonds of empathy. The youth communities formed naturally through the program are also expected to contribute to the activation of youth networks in the region.

The program will be offered to a total of 80 young people, with 40 participants in each session. The first session will be held from June to July, and the second from October to November, with each session consisting of eight classes held every Wednesday.

Applications can be submitted through the Geumcheon-gu Office Integrated Reservation System, and further details are available in the announcements section of the Geumcheon-gu Office website.

Yoo Sung-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, "We have prepared this education program to help young people prevent damages such as jeonse fraud and to equip them with the necessary skills for independence," adding, "We have prepared a wealth of practical content, so we hope many interested young people will participate."
