Gyeonggi Agricultural Research and Extension Services Recruiting Trainees for Return-to-Farming and Rural Life Program for Prospective Retirees

Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services is recruiting participants for the "1st Basic Farming Education for New Farmers" until the 29th to support the stable settlement of those wishing to return to farming.


The training is open to Gyeonggi-do residents aged 50 or older, as well as individuals who wish to return to farming or rural life. The main programs include: establishing successful strategies for returning to farming or rural areas; securing farmland and housing; managing pests, diseases, and soil; visiting exemplary farms; financial management; and writing a return-to-farming plan. The course covers basic farming techniques and agricultural information.


The training will be held over four days, from June 16 to June 19, at the Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Training Center in Hwaseong and at exemplary farm sites.

The total number of trainees is 20, and citizens of Seoul and Incheon may also participate within 5% of the total capacity, in accordance with agreements between local governments.


Applications can be submitted in person at the Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Training Center (289-2, Byeongjeomjungang-ro, Hwaseong), or by sending a registered letter.


Sung Jehoon, Director of Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services, stated, "We will continue to provide effective training to support stable return-to-farming startups and settlement in rural areas after retirement," and added, "We hope for the interest and participation of those who dream of returning to farming or rural life after retirement."
