Gwangju University announced on May 19 that the Gwangju Youth Job Station Sangmu Center, operated under consignment by its Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, recently held the 'TalkItReal' Current Employee Talk Show to support youth career exploration.
This program invited a current employee from KT, who is actively working in the corporate field, to provide practical answers to young people's questions based on pre-submitted inquiries. The topics addressed included the relevance between academic majors and job roles, strategies for preparing for employment, and communication skills required in the workplace.
Through this talk show, three key values were delivered: providing an opportunity for youth to understand job roles from their own perspective, offering real-time communication experiences with industry professionals, and raising awareness about the field of technical sales. The event served as an opportunity to expand engagement with a diverse range of young people, including unemployed youth and university students.
Center Director Jo Yougeun stated, "What young people who lack clear information about job roles and career paths need most is insight from the field," adding, "We will continue to connect youth with practitioners from a wider variety of job categories, consistently providing opportunities that offer practical support for career decision-making."
Meanwhile, the Youth Growth Project is a program jointly operated by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and Gwangju City to support unemployed youth aged 15 to 39 so that they do not give up on their job search. As part of this project, the Gwangju Youth Job Station offers various services to support employment, entrepreneurship, and recovery in daily life, helping young people enter the labor market.
