In April, the Silla University I-URP Project Group launched a call for technology development projects to enhance the competitiveness of the companion animal industry in the Busan region, vitalize the ecosystem, and support the growth of local companies. As a result, 15 companies were ultimately selected for technology development projects.
On May 15, the Silla University I-URP Project Group held a business agreement ceremony with the 15 selected companies, including Stickers Corporation, YPet, Petstation, and Beyondy.
The 15 companies, recognized as promising local businesses with technological capabilities and market potential, are expected to strengthen their foundations for practical market entry and autonomous growth through this agreement. This includes prototype development for technology projects, intellectual property applications, and academic paper presentations and publications. Based on various forms of support from the I-URP Project Group, these companies are anticipated to become key drivers in creating high added value in the Busan companion animal industry.
Bae Ilkwon, head of the Silla University I-URP Project Group, stated, "Through this agreement, we plan to actively support field-oriented research and development and university-industry cooperation programs so that companies can achieve further growth based on a solid technological foundation." He added, "We will focus not only on simple R&D, but also on practical outcomes that consider product commercialization potential, applicability in the industrial field, and marketability."
