Jangseonggun, Jeonnam announced on May 19 that it will accept applications for the '2025 Second Semester University Tuition Support Program' until June 13.
This program provides financial support for the actual tuition expenses of university students from the Jangseong area, offering up to 2 million won per semester for each student, for a maximum of eight semesters. Only the tuition amount that remains after deducting national scholarships or university scholarships is covered.
Applicants must meet the following criteria: their guardian must have been registered as a resident in Jangseonggun for at least three years as of the announcement date; they must be domestic university students under the age of 30 who completed at least 12 credits and earned an average grade of C or higher in the previous semester. In addition, applicants must have a record of applying for a national scholarship for the first semester of this year through the Korea Student Aid Foundation.
Applications can be submitted in person at the local township administrative welfare center or by mail. The county will verify eligibility and conduct a review, and plans to provide the support funds in July once national and university scholarships are finalized. More detailed information can be found in the announcements section of the county website or by contacting the Education Support Team of the Department of Culture and Education.
Kim Hanjong, the county governor, stated, "We will continue to expand educational welfare benefits in order to reduce the financial burden on local university students and their parents."
