"Hometown Friends" is a friendship group made up of individuals from Yeongyang who hold regular gatherings twice a year. This year, they canceled their spring meeting to help their hometown, which suffered severe damage from a large wildfire, and instead donated the meeting expenses as a small but heartfelt gesture of comfort to the affected residents.

President Hong Moonki said, "I would like to express my deepest condolences to those in our hometown who suffered from the wildfire and to the bereaved families, and I sincerely hope that they are able to return to their daily lives as soon as possible."

County Governor Oh Dochang stated, "I am deeply grateful to 'Hometown Friends' for not forgetting their hometown and extending a helping hand during this difficult time. The donated funds will be used with care to help the affected residents recover."

"Hometown Friends" also stated that they plan to continue their ongoing interest in and support for their hometown, Yeongyang County, in the future.
