Local Financial Support
On May 16, SC First Bank announced that, together with its parent company Standard Chartered (SC) Group, it will launch the 'International Banking Service' (IB Service) for priority banking customers in Korea.
This service is designed for Korean nationals residing in Korea who are preparing to stay abroad. It assigns overseas dedicated staff fluent in both Korean and the local language, and is offered to SC First Bank's priority banking customers.
Customers who complete the application for this service can receive streamlined and expedited support for the complex account opening process at local SC Bank branches within the SC Group through pre-arranged procedures with dedicated overseas staff. They can also enjoy the benefits of priority banking services offered by SC Banks in the respective countries, as well as receive various information and financial services needed for their stay abroad. Eligible priority banking customers for the IB Service are Korean nationals residing in Korea who either have a total deposit balance of at least 100 million KRW or have made monthly transfers of at least 6.5 million KRW for three consecutive months.
SC First Bank will first launch the IB Service in Singapore in cooperation with SC Singapore (10 branches), and plans to gradually expand the service to other regions through the SC Group's global network.
The service will be piloted at the Dogok Suite Branch, Apgujeong-dong Branch, LCT Branch, Main Branch, Pangyo Station Branch, and the PB Center.
Cho Hyungki, head of the Retail Banking Group (Vice President) at SC First Bank, stated, "We believe this service will be useful for customers who are planning to relocate or change jobs to Singapore, or who have children studying in Singapore," and added, "SC First Bank will continue to make efforts to provide differentiated services that meet the diverse needs of customers across borders."
