Point Mobile announced on May 19 that it has secured an order for mobile computer products worth 9.5 billion KRW from Amazon. As a result, the cumulative value of orders from Amazon has now reached 12 billion KRW, and the company expects this figure to surpass 20 billion KRW by the end of the year, representing an 85% increase compared to the previous year.
The product to be supplied this time is the PM86, and the company expects the supply volume for this year to expand further. Separately, Point Mobile is also preparing for the full-scale supply of the new industrial tablet 'TR54', which was developed at Amazon's request. This is expected to further accelerate the company's sales growth. Scheduled for launch in July 2025, the TR54 is a specialized product that meets all of Amazon's requirements, equipped with a barcode scanner, WiFi 6E, RFID tag, and NFC. Supply will begin in the third quarter of this year.
Point Mobile will not only expand orders for its existing mobile computer products but will also begin full-scale supply of industrial tablet PCs. The company explained that with these stable new sources of revenue, including more than 20 billion KRW in sales to Amazon this year, it expects to achieve record-high annual sales.
Point Mobile signed an eight-year contract with Amazon in 2019 to supply industrial mobile devices worth a total of 200 million USD (approximately 284 billion KRW). Since then, it has been supplying products for various e-commerce logistics fields, including warehouse operations and inventory and delivery management. During the pandemic in 2021, as Amazon rapidly expanded its warehouses in the United States, Point Mobile's annual sales surged to around 20 billion KRW. After a period of stagnation in 2022 and 2023, sales began to rise again from 2024.
Currently, Amazon operates local marketplaces in about 20 countries, owns more than 600 mega logistics centers in the United States alone, and operates over 200 logistics centers in other countries. In 2025, Amazon plans to invest approximately 1.5 billion USD to add about 80 new logistics centers in the United States. Point Mobile is supplying its products mainly to these new facilities, and the company expects significant sales growth in line with the increased demand resulting from the expansion of new logistics centers.
Additionally, Amazon is running a 'Quick Commerce' project in the Indian market and plans to expand this service to the Middle East. Point Mobile intends to supply its products for this service as well. This model is similar to Korea's 'Coupang Fresh', offering grocery delivery within 30 minutes. Furthermore, Point Mobile plans to expand product supply to Amazon's major offline affiliates, including Amazon Fresh, Amazon Go, and Whole Foods Market.
A Point Mobile representative stated, "Industrial mobile devices are used not only in logistics and retail industries, but also in manufacturing, energy, and public services. Based on our customer-tailored products, price competitiveness, and diverse product lineup, we are expanding our global market share."
The representative added, "After securing global retail clients such as Amazon, we plan to enter the disaster safety network (firefighting, police, public sector) and K-defense markets with 5G-based products. We will also strengthen our new growth engines through industrial tablets and POS terminals currently under development."
