Xperix Unveils World's Slimmest FAP 60 Fingerprint Scanner 'RealScan SG10' at ID4Africa 2025

Digital identity verification specialist Xperix announced that it will unveil the world's slimmest optical FAP 60 fingerprint scanner, the 'RealScan SG10', at ID4Africa 2025, which will be held in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, starting on May 20. The company also revealed plans to target the next-generation digital identity registration market.

The RealScan SG10 is the successor to the widely used RealScan-G10 and features an ultra-slim design that is among the best in the world for FAP 60 optical fingerprint scanners. It is designed for easy integration and operation not only in desktop environments but also in mobile registration kits and on-site locations with spatial constraints. The device maximizes user convenience by supporting Plug & Play functionality, allowing for automatic recognition without the need for separate driver installation.

This new product is equipped with AI-based fake fingerprint detection technology, enabling real-time detection of fingerprint cloning or forgery attempts using advanced algorithms. It also offers full compatibility with MOSIP, an open ID platform, significantly expanding its applicability in public project environments worldwide. In addition, the latest USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface enables high-speed fingerprint capture and transmission, ensuring efficient operation even in large-scale identity registration projects.

With the RealScan SG10, Xperix aims to simultaneously meet the security and scalability requirements in various digital ID sectors, including national ID issuance, voter registration, immigration control, and healthcare infrastructure development. The company plans to accelerate its expansion into new African and global markets, where speed, portability, and accuracy are all essential.

ID4Africa 2025, where the RealScan SG10 will make its debut, is Africa's largest digital identity exhibition and will be held in Ethiopia from May 20 to 23. The event will bring together more than 2,000 government officials, development partners, and industry leaders from over 100 countries, including representatives from more than 50 African nations, to discuss strategies for the adoption and expansion of digital identity systems.

Lee Sanghoon, Executive Director of Xperix's ID Business Sector, stated, "As a trusted partner to governments and institutions across Africa, Xperix has continuously developed cutting-edge technologies to meet the evolving demands of identity management. The RealScan SG10 is a product that combines AI-based forgery detection, MOSIP integration, ultra-fast data processing, and field-friendly design, delivering outstanding performance even in the most challenging environments."

At this exhibition, Xperix will showcase and demonstrate the RealScan SG10, aiming to expand opportunities for technical collaboration with global partners and strengthen its position in the next-generation digital ID market.
