B2EN, a company specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) and big data, has formed a consortium with XR technology company Vunect and AI semiconductor specialist Rebellions to officially launch a digital collaboration project with Mongolian government agencies.
B2EN announced on May 19 that, on May 13, it signed a Joint Action Plan for AI-based digital administrative cooperation with the Mongolia Customs General Administration (MCGA) in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia.
The Joint Action Plan serves as a preliminary step toward a formal MOU and contains the same cooperation details as the actual MOU. This agreement was made as part of the "AI-Semiconductor Overseas Demonstration Support Project" supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), with the participation of the Vunect consortium (Vunect, B2EN, Rebellions), which includes B2EN.
This is particularly significant as it marks the first substantial step in which Korean companies have established a direct cooperation framework with Mongolian government agencies and are contributing to the innovation of local customs administration and the facilitation of Mongolian trade by utilizing AI agent services and infrastructure based on domestically produced semiconductor NPUs. Both countries agreed to go beyond simple technology demonstration and jointly develop a sustainable cooperation model in the field of digital administration.
Through this project, the consortium plans to expand its technological credibility and export base in the global public sector, and there are also expectations for future linkage with digital ODA and expansion to other countries.
The official signing ceremony, held at the MCGA headquarters, began with a welcoming address by Deputy Commissioner Enkhtaivan Gelegjamts. This was followed by a speech and project introduction by B2EN CEO Lee Changhyun, representing the consortium, an introduction to the customs agency's AI policy, institutional tours, exchange programs, and specific discussions for AI service demonstration.
The ceremony was attended by more than 100 participants, including partner organizations and companies from both countries, Mongolia’s Ministry of Digital Development and Communications, the EU, and other relevant public institutions. Mongolian National Broadcaster (MONTSAME) and various media outlets were also present, showing great interest in this AI project.
Previously, in early April, B2EN established a strategic partnership with Vunect, the lead company, to build a cooperative framework responding to global digital transformation demands. The Mongolia project is the first substantial initiative pursued within this partnership and is considered a starting point for generating concrete results.
Lee Changhyun, CEO of B2EN, said, "This agreement means more than just technology export," and added, "Through cooperation with the Mongolia Customs General Administration, this will serve as an opportunity to confirm that domestic digital technologies can make a practical contribution in the international public administration sector."
Additionally, Ryu Jisun, Head of B2EN's Overseas Business Team, stated, "The main mission of the customs agency is to facilitate foreign trade and improve risk management," and continued, "Through this project, we plan to enhance the vast data accumulated by the customs agency and establish a rapid response system to realize more accurate and efficient customs administration."
Meanwhile, B2EN specializes in supporting data-driven decision-making in the public and private sectors, building digital platforms, and executing AI projects. Recently, the company has been steadily expanding its overseas cooperation projects in line with global digital transformation demands.
