"Fake Voice Detection and Call Summary Experience"... LG Uplus Showcases AI Technology at University Festivals

"Youth Festival" to Be Held on Campus During University Festival Season

LG Uplus announced on May 19 that it will host the "Youth Festival," an event where university students in their 20s can experience artificial intelligence (AI) technology based on "ixi," during the university festival season in May.

The Youth Festival is a campus program tailored for Generation Z that LG Uplus holds annually to expand its connection with customers in their 20s. In 2023, the company invited 800 students from eight universities nationwide to participate in the festival. In 2024, it set up AI technology and network experience zones at five university campuses across the country.

This year's Youth Festival will be held at three universities: starting with Hongik University (May 15-16), followed by Chung-Ang University (May 19-20), and Korea University (May 21-22). University students can experience AI technologies and services at the LG Uplus booths set up at the festival venues.

LG Uplus has set up an "Anti-Deep Voice" experience booth as one of its main attractions. Anti-Deep Voice is a technology that uses AI to analyze differences in voice frequency patterns and pronunciation to detect fake voices in real time.

Additionally, there will be a booth where students can try out the call summary feature of the AI call assistant "ixi-O." At the booth, students can experience four main features of ixi-O: real-time voice phishing detection, AI search, AI answering calls on behalf of the user, visual call display, and fast AI summary and suggestion functions.

This year's Youth Festival was planned and operated with the direct participation of 50 members of "Uth Spirit," the LG Uplus university student ambassador group. LG Uplus plans to continue strengthening communication with Generation Z and introducing a variety of programs under the Youth brand.

Jung Hyeyoon, Head of Marketing Group at LG Uplus (Executive Director), said, "We are consistently holding campus events so that Generation Z customers can experience AI technology firsthand," adding, "We will continue to deliver a safe and reassuring daily life through innovations in customer experience."
