One-Day "Danbi Tour - Ulsan Rose Festival Edition"
Rail Travel Package Operated on May 22
Ulsan City, in collaboration with the Korea Tourism Organization and Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL), is launching a one-day travel package called "Danbi Tour - Ulsan Rose Festival Edition," which utilizes the Donghae Line and Jungang Line.
This package was planned to coincide with the local festival schedule, aiming to increase the inflow of tourists from the Gangwon region and to help revitalize tourism in areas affected by wildfires. This follows the opening of the Donghae Line (Gangneung-Bujeon) and Jungang Line (Cheongnyangni-Bujeon) KTX routes, which have significantly improved accessibility to Ulsan.
This travel package will be operated once, on May 22.
For the Donghae Line package, the train departs from Gangneung Station at 5:28 a.m., Donghae at 6:10 a.m., Samcheok at 6:27 a.m., Uljin at 7:02 a.m., and Yeongdeok at 7:45 a.m., arriving at Namchang Station at 9:27 a.m. to begin the itinerary.
The prices are 75,000 won from Gangneung, 70,000 won from Donghae, 70,000 won from Samcheok, 60,000 won from Uljin, and 55,000 won from Yeongdeok.
The price includes round-trip train fare, experience fees, and lunch. Additionally, 10,000 won per customer will be donated to the local community.
For the Jungang Line, the package departs from Cheongnyangni Station at 6:26 a.m. and arrives at Taehwagang Station at 9:40 a.m. to begin the itinerary. This package has already sold out due to high demand.
The main itinerary includes visits to Oegosan Onggi Village in Ulju County, the Ulsan Grand Park Rose Festival, and participation in the Soldo Sound Walking program, a healing experience walking along the coastal path in Dong-gu, Ulsan, while listening to the sounds of nature.
Further details can be found on KORAIL Talk, the Let’s Korail website, and the Korea Tourism Organization’s "Korea Travel Easy" website.
An official from Ulsan City stated, "With the opening of the Jungang Line and Donghae Line KTX, rail tourism in Ulsan has reached a new turning point," adding, "We plan to lay the foundation for regional recovery and sustainable tourism revitalization by developing and operating tourism packages linked to local festivals and wildfire-affected areas."
The 17th Ulsan Grand Park Rose Festival will be held for five days from May 21 to May 25 at the Ulsan Grand Park Rose Garden and Nammun Square.
This year’s festival will feature not only three million vibrant roses, but also a Rose Valley concert, a large-scale parade, and a variety of other experiences and programs.
