The main event of the 17th Jungnang Seoul Rose Festival, the 'Grand Rose Festival,' successfully concluded on May 18. However, the festive atmosphere continues to thrive.
Jungnang Rose Week will run until May 24, when the 'Jungnang Artist Festival' takes place, and visitors can look forward to ten million roses and a variety of programs.
On May 18, the final day of the 'Grand Rose Festival,' also known as 'LOVE ROSE DAY,' featured a diverse lineup of performances, including the 'Seoul Rose Singers Stage' by choir groups from Seoul's autonomous districts, the 'Love Rose Opening Show' senior model fashion show from Jungnang District, an awards ceremony for Jungnang residents, and the Jungnang Residents Singing Contest King of Kings.
Notably, singer Song Gain, who was originally scheduled to perform at the 'Happy Rose Concert' on May 16 but was unable to do so due to heavy rain, visited the festival on its final day and delivered a moving congratulatory performance, receiving an enthusiastic response from the audience. Hwang Minwoo, Hwang Minho, and Jung Minchan also took the stage, further heating up the festival atmosphere.
At Surimdae Rose Garden, rose busking performances continued from morning until evening, while the Rose Play Garden hosted the 'Jungnang Rose Pop-up Exhibition,' which combined the rose industry with hands-on content and drew the attention of many visitors. The event also featured the Rose Industry Exhibition, festival MD merchandise, and the ZeROSE Market selling eco-friendly products, all of which contributed to the excitement and attracted large crowds.
Even after the conclusion of the 'Grand Rose Festival,' the celebrations will continue. On weekdays, photo zones, a rose gallery, and a rose history exhibition will be available throughout the festival period. In addition, the Surimdae Rose Garden will host local cultural and arts group busking performances and the 'Rose Night Out Film Festival,' offering a touch of spring romance.
On May 24, the 'Jungnang Artist Festival' will be held around Myeonmok Sports Park, where residents will participate directly in performances, marking the grand finale of the festival. At the Gyeomjaegyo Rose Tunnel and Gyeomjae Rose Garden, a variety of events will take place, including the 'Malkongdalkongin Myeonmok' market run by local merchants, the 10th Social Welfare Expo, and the Myeonmok 2-dong Residents' Association Anabada Market, providing even more attractions for visitors to enjoy.
Ryu Gyeonggi, head of Jungnang District, stated, "The Jungnang Seoul Rose Festival has established itself as a leading urban flower festival created together with residents," and added, "Since 'Jungnang Rose Week' continues until May 24, we ask for your continued interest and visits until the very end."
