Over 2,000 Citizens Participate to Promote Health
Changwon Special City in South Gyeongsang Province hosted the 15th Jinhaeman Ecological Forest Walking Competition at the Pungho Park Sports Ground and along the Jinhae Dream Road in Jinhae-gu.
This year marked the 15th edition of the event, which was organized to widely promote the beauty of Jinhae Dream Road?a leading ecological rest area in the city?and to encourage both public health and leisure activities among citizens.
The event, held on the 18th, attracted around 2,000 participants, including families, friends, and neighbors. Participants started at the Pungho Park Sports Ground, walked to the turnaround point in front of the Marine Training Experience Theme Rest Area, and returned to the starting point, covering a forest trail of approximately 6 kilometers. As they walked together, they enjoyed time in nature, taking in the scenic sea views of Jinhaeman and the lush forest, which not only promoted health but also helped relieve everyday stress.
At the event venue, a variety of side events?including a celebratory dance performance, experience booths, and a prize draw?added to the enjoyment of the walking competition.
The organizing committee of the Jinhaeman Ecological Forest Walking Competition ensured thorough safety management throughout the event by operating a medical support booth, deploying ambulances, and assigning safety personnel, so that participants could focus on walking with peace of mind.
Jang Geumyong, acting mayor of Changwon Special City, who attended the event, said, "I hope this walking competition has provided citizens with a meaningful opportunity to build happy memories and improve their health with family, friends, and neighbors. We will continue to expand events that allow citizens to get close to nature and find healing in their daily lives."
