Customer Value Innovation Office Appointed as Committee Secretariat
SK Telecom (SKT) announced on May 18 that it has officially launched the "Customer Trust Committee," composed of five external experts, in an effort to restore trust following the recent hacking incident.
The committee is chaired by Ahn Wan-ki, former president of the Korea Productivity Center and current distinguished professor at Korea Polytechnic University. Other members include Shin Jong-won, former chairperson of the Consumer Dispute Settlement Commission; Son Jeong-hye, attorney at Hye Myung Law Firm; Kim Nan-do, professor of consumer studies at Seoul National University; and Kim Chae-yeon, professor of psychology at Korea University.
During the first meeting held on May 16, the committee discussed ways to enhance public trust and understanding regarding the recent SKT hacking incident, as well as strategies to establish transparent communication channels for disclosing information to customers.
According to SKT, the committee will hold regular meetings every two weeks and convene additional meetings as needed to provide advice on urgent measures. The committee will also be involved in developing a long-term roadmap for restoring customer trust.
SKT has designated its internal Customer Value Innovation Office as the secretariat to support committee activities and plans to develop performance indicators related to customer and market perception, which will be provided to the committee.
Meanwhile, on May 12, SKT separately launched the "Customer Value Innovation Task Force (TF)."
