Lee Jae Myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated on the 17th, "On February 16 of this year, I predicted that within 100 days, the People Power Party (PPP) and its candidate would turn against Yoon Suk Yeol, and now the signs have begun to appear."

After posting this message on his social networking service (SNS) account in the morning, Lee added, "Now it is time to begin a public apology to the people. Soon, they will be dumping buckets of ice water over themselves and saying, 'I'm sorry,' 'I've committed an unforgivable crime,' and 'Please forgive me just this once.'"
Lee also criticized, "This is the behavior of those who believe, 'The people will forget everything after a year.'"
He continued, "The people are a great collective intelligence, and they will pay dearly for this attitude," emphasizing, "The people are the true owners."
Lee's post was published at 6:52 a.m., about two hours before former President Yoon Suk Yeol announced his intention to leave the People Power Party on the same day.
At around 9:10 a.m. that day, former President Yoon posted on Facebook, "Today, I am leaving the People Power Party," and added, "Although I am leaving the party, I will continue to dedicate myself to defending freedom and sovereignty."
