On Facebook that day, Lee also requested, "Above all, I hope that multiple layers of safety measures will be implemented to prevent any casualties."

He further emphasized, "Considering the potential impact of large amounts of hazardous substances from the fire on residents' health, the central and local governments must cooperate closely to ensure thorough recovery and support efforts."

He added, "Even though it is the election period, the government must ensure that there are no gaps in public safety. The safety systems at factories handling flammable materials, including fire prevention measures, must be thoroughly inspected, leaving no room for negligence. The Democratic Party will also actively cooperate in these efforts."

On this day, Lee was on a campaign tour in the Honam region. In the morning, he visited Naju, Jeonnam, and in the afternoon, he is scheduled to move to Gwangju for intensive campaigning.
