A Total of Eight Projects Launched
Full-Scale Efforts to Foster Local Startups Begin
Yangsan City in South Gyeongsang Province has officially launched 'G-Space East' as a key hub to revitalize the startup ecosystem in the eastern Gyeongnam region.
G-Space East is located within the Yangsan Future Design Convergence Center and has been operating a variety of startup support programs since its opening in December 2023.
In 2025, the city plans to strengthen support across all stages of entrepreneurship by promoting a total of eight projects in three areas: startups, accelerating, and scale-up.
First, through two rounds of recruitment held in December last year and April this year, 24 companies were selected to move into G-Space East and are being provided with free office space. Starting in May, customized accelerating programs such as mentoring, investment linkage, and networking will be fully implemented for these companies.
Additionally, ten prospective and early-stage startups (within three years of founding) and ten growth-stage startups (within seven years of founding) located in Yangsan will each receive 10 million KRW in commercialization funds and tailored growth programs.
Furthermore, a support project for the production of promotional content is underway for 20 startups in the Gyeongnam region that have been established for less than seven years, and applications are currently being accepted. Selected companies will receive support for the production of customized content, such as product photography and promotional videos.
Practical training programs to strengthen youth entrepreneurship capabilities will also be implemented. In collaboration with the Yangsan City Youth Center, G-Space East will operate the 'CON-Project,' a signature program of the Gyeongnam Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, to support aspiring young entrepreneurs in entering the market through hands-on exercises in customer-centric startup methodologies, business model design, and validation.
Additionally, three projects are scheduled to begin recruiting participants between May and June. These include: the 'Startup Investment Fund Linked Accelerating Support Project,' which provides 10 million KRW in commercialization funds, entrepreneurship education, and investment linkage for startups in the regional New Deal and bio sectors within seven years of founding; the 'Startup Crowdfunding Support Project,' which offers up to 3 million KRW in actual expenses for detailed page production, content, publicity, translation support, and practical training to help startups succeed in crowdfunding; and the 'Startup Digital Marketing Support Project,' which provides up to 3 million KRW in digital marketing expenses for SNS marketing, search ads, live commerce, and expert consulting for startups within seven years of founding.
Recruitment notices for these three projects can be found on the website of the Gyeongnam Center for Creative Economy and Innovation between May and June.
The core goal of G-Space East's startup support programs is to foster the growth of local companies while boosting the regional economy by attracting promising businesses to Yangsan City.
A city official stated, "This project goes beyond simple startup support and focuses on establishing the foundation of the startup ecosystem throughout Yangsan City and the entire eastern Gyeongnam region, as well as nurturing startups that will represent the region," adding, "We will provide the practical foundation necessary for companies to settle and grow."
