Lee: "Dedication Even in Unfamiliar Lands... My Deepest Respect"
On May 16, Lee Jaemyung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, encouraged overseas voting by stating, "Voting is the most certain way to prove that you are the true owners of the Republic of Korea, no matter where you are."
On this day, Lee shared a video letter on Facebook from 'Artists' Solidarity Europe,' a group of artists active in Europe, encouraging people to vote, and made this statement.
Lee expressed his gratitude by saying, "It is thanks to your dedication in living each day steadfastly in unfamiliar lands, with unfamiliar languages and unfamiliar scenery, that the Republic of Korea can stand proudly on the world stage. I extend my deepest respect and appreciation."
He continued, "I am well aware that the journey to the polling station is by no means close. Some of you may have to travel hundreds of kilometers, or your entire family may need to set out on a long journey. Your participation will become the strength of the Republic of Korea and will change our future," he emphasized.
This year's overseas voting for the presidential election will be held at 182 overseas diplomatic missions around the world, every day from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, during the period designated by the Overseas Election Commission between the 20th and 25th.
