Damyang County (Governor Jeong Cheolwon) held the launch ceremony for the '2025 Jeonnam-style Youth Community' on the 15th at the Myeongokheon Garden Room in the county office, signaling the official start of youth-led community activities in the region.
The launch event was part of the '2025 Jeonnam-style Youth Community Revitalization Project,' which is designed to encourage young people to participate in various region-based activities and to help them build networks among different communities.
During the event, guidance was provided on the direction of the project, each team shared their activity plans, and time was set aside for networking to promote exchange and cooperation among the youth.
Last month, the county selected 30 participants across 5 teams through an open recruitment process. Each team will receive 6 million won in project execution funds and support for network activities, according to their individual project plans.
The selected youth communities will engage in a variety of activities, including producing local promotional content, providing ESG environmental education and recycling education for seniors, offering youth drone soccer training and organizing tournaments, developing joint agricultural product brands, and discovering young human resources and piloting community operations.
A county official stated, "Through this project, we hope that young people will be able to establish stable roots in the region and grow together through autonomous community activities."
