This meeting was organized to discuss policy directions for invigorating public Korean medicine healthcare, such as expanding the establishment of Korean medicine departments within national and public medical institutions, and to thoroughly review the potential for linking these efforts with the various ongoing health care projects at Seosan Medical Center.

Seosan Medical Center currently operates 17 medical departments and is responsible for the health of local residents, but it has not yet established a Korean medicine department.

Nevertheless, the medical center has successfully carried out a wide range of public healthcare projects over the past year, including the development of a remote healthcare model for inhabited islands in South Chungcheong Province, a chronic disease management project, a senior health checkup project, a health promotion project for people with disabilities and multicultural families, and a community linkage project for discharged patients.

In particular, the meeting featured in-depth discussions on integrating the Korean medicine health care pilot project into initiatives such as the "Health Care Support Project for Vulnerable Groups," which emphasizes continuous health management and community connection, and the "AI Care Call-Based Primary Care Collaboration Project."

Lee Jihyun, Director of the Medical Support Center at the National Institute for Korean Medicine Development, stated, "By expanding the role of Korean medicine within public medical institutions, we can create synergistic effects in various areas of public healthcare, such as chronic disease management, senior health promotion, and health management for people with disabilities. We will strengthen our cooperation to provide broader and more effective health management services to residents in the Seosan area."
