Pianist Yeonmin Park to Perform Liszt's Monumental "Ann?es de p?lerinage"
Complete Work to Be Presented at Seoul Arts Center IBK Chamber Hall on June 19, 2025
Pianist Yeonmin Park will perform the complete "Ann?es de p?lerinage," a monumental work by Franz Liszt, at her solo recital at the IBK Chamber Hall of the Seoul Arts Center on June 19, 2025.
"Ann?es de p?lerinage" is Liszt's largest-scale piano composition, reflecting the emotions and philosophy he experienced during his travels in Switzerland and Italy, as well as his reflections on nature and art. Liszt composed the first piece in 1835 and completed the final piece over 40 years later, eventually publishing the entire set.
The work is divided into three years, and at this performance, Yeonmin Park will present "Year One: Switzerland" and "Year Two: Italy."
Yeonmin Park stated, "Liszt's music is not just a piano work, but a chronicle of life," and added, "Through this concert, I hope to walk the pilgrimage journey through music together with the audience."
Yeonmin Park, a native of Mokpo, Jeollanam-do, graduated from Sunhwa Arts Middle and High School and the College of Music at Seoul National University. She later completed the highest performance program at the Hochschule f?r Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover in Germany. She gained international recognition by becoming the first Korean to win the George Enescu International Competition in 2021, and by winning second prize and the Audience Award at the 2022 Liszt International Competition.
Yeonmin Park is establishing herself as a soloist through collaborations with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. Notably, she has received Audience Awards at the Liszt, Lyon, and Ja?n International Competitions, earning recognition for both her popularity and musicality.
