Hanwha Solutions Qcells Division (Hanwha Qcells) announced on May 16 that Park Seungdeok has been appointed as the new CEO.
Park joined Hanwha Chemical (now Hanwha Solutions Chemical Division) in 1994 and has held key positions in research and development as well as business strategy. Beginning in 2012, he worked at Hanwha Qcells' China plant, later serving as Head of Business Management and Head of the Cell Business Division at the Korea plant. In 2020, he was appointed CEO of Hanwha Impact, and since 2021, he has served as Chief Strategy Officer of Hanwha Solutions, contributing to the establishment of renewable energy business strategies and the expansion of the company's portfolio.
Hanwha Qcells described Park as a leader with strategic insight and execution-oriented leadership, grounded in extensive on-site experience. A Hanwha Solutions representative stated, "This appointment is aimed at further enhancing the organization's execution capabilities and leading the market during a period of significant growth in the global solar market. Through an integrated system of collaboration across technology, strategy, and manufacturing, we will continue to strengthen Hanwha Qcells' business competitiveness."
Hong Jungkwon, the outgoing CEO of Hanwha Qcells, will now serve as Head of Qcells Manufacturing Division, focusing on advancing production capabilities and driving manufacturing innovation. As the importance of technology and quality in the solar industry continues to grow, he plans to further contribute to strengthening technological and manufacturing leadership based on his expertise in manufacturing operations.
