Guro District Mayor Jang Inhong Joins "Relay Campaign to Improve Awareness of Population Issues"

On May 16, Guro District (District Mayor Jang Inhong) participated in the "Relay Campaign to Improve Awareness of Population Issues," urging the local community to pay attention to and participate in addressing the crisis of population decline.

This relay-style public campaign, organized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Human Resources Development Institute for Health and Welfare, aims to raise public awareness about changes in the population structure caused by low birth rates and an aging society, and to encourage joint action for a sustainable local community.

District Mayor Jang joined the campaign after being nominated by Geumcheon District Mayor Yoo Sunghoon. He then nominated Min Byungwook, Director of Korea University Guro Hospital, as the next participant, further expanding the campaign's reach.

Jang Inhong, Mayor of Guro District, stated, "Population decline is not simply a matter of numbers, but a challenge directly linked to the survival of the community," adding, "We will continue to do our best to develop sustainable measures to address population issues together with our residents."

The district is continuously implementing customized policies in various areas, including support for childbirth and childcare, housing, and jobs for seniors, to address population issues.
