Asan City Provides Materials to Prevent the Spread of Invasive Pests

Pesticide Application When Pest Density Increases

Asan City Provides Materials to Prevent the Spread of Invasive Pests

On May 16, Asan City in South Chungcheong Province announced that it will provide monitoring materials to fruit farms growing apples, pears, and other fruits to prevent the spread of invasive pests.

This support has been arranged to enable rapid initial pest control, as the frequency of domestic entry of invasive pests such as the spotted lanternfly has been increasing.

The city plans to guide farmers to apply pesticides if the pest density exceeds a certain threshold.

Im Miyong, head of the Agricultural Technology Department, stated, "Rapid response is more important than anything else to prevent the spread of invasive pests," and added, "We hope this support will help reduce the economic burden on farms and enhance the stability of fruit production."
